EQUINE OSTEOPATHY

Equine Osteopathy is a drug-free, non-invasive form of manual therapy and takes a holistic, whole-body approach of the body, not just the injured or affected part. It is a specific application of the principles and standards developed in the human osteopathy, translated, adapted and modified to the special structural and physical needs of the equine.
The therapy not only focus on the joints, muscles and spine but also the organs as they play a big role in how the body functions.
The therapy not only focus on the joints, muscles and spine but also the organs as they play a big role in how the body functions. We find and treat the source of the problems and restore the state of balance in which auto-correction can occur as it works on the 3 major systems in the body: skeletal, cranial and organs. These systems are all linked together and therefore affect each other so by using Osteopathy we make sure they function correctly by adjusting the joints and mobilising the organs.

Osteopathy can be used when your horse
  • is not bending correctly
  • doesn’t pick up the correct lead
  • does not push off correctly
  • does not engage the hind quarters
Osteopathy helps
  • lengthening the strides
  • improve mobility of the joints
  • relieve back pain
